In 2019 YYC Group entered the Singapore market and partnered with Agere Accounting & Advisory Pte. Ltd. (A Xero Platinum Partner). Today we have formed YYC Corporate Services Pte Ltd, continuing to serve our clients.
With 4 decades of being in the industry, YYC Group is familiar with contemporary business challenges in the volatile global market, having helped many companies both local and overseas clients in growing their business. We provides Accounting, Bookkeeping, Corporate Secretarial and Taxation Services in Singapore to ensure that businesses can manage their accounting needs efficiently and effectively with expert support.
OUR STORY
YYC—a name that began as Yap, Yeo & Co.—has grown to mean so much more. It also stands for “Yes You Can”, a mantra that has defined our journey from day one.
Our story begins over 60 years ago, not in a boardroom, but with a dream and RM300.
Back then, our founder didn’t get into a local university. Many would’ve seen that as the end of the road—but not him. With quiet courage and the support of his brother, a door-to-door ice cream seller in Melaka, he was handed RM300. Just enough for a one-way flight and the first semester of an accountancy degree in New Zealand.
In a foreign land, he didn’t just earn a degree—he found his purpose and his life partner, Mrs. Yap. The two returned to Malaysia with a shared vision: to start an accounting firm that truly served entrepreneurs. That was the birth of YYC.
A few years in, Mr. Yeo joined forces with Mr. Yap. Together, the duo built one of Malaysia’s earliest and most trusted accounting firms—brick by brick, client by client. They knew what it meant to have someone believe in you, and they built YYC to be that kind of believer for other business owners.
From these humble beginnings came a powerful belief: every business owner has the potential to change lives—just like Mr. Yap’s brother did for him.
The Turning Point: From Proving Ourselves to Finding Our Purpose
Fast forward to the next generation. Enter Chau and Shin, the dynamic children of Mr. Yap. When they took over, YYC was still a small firm that was being looked down upon.
And that stung.
Fueled by the desire to prove themselves — to show the world they were more than what others assumed — Chau and Shin stepped up with bold ambition.
“We just didn’t want to be looked down on,” they said.
So they rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
They wanted to grow big — not just in size, but in spirit.
They honoured the legacy while reimagining the future, blending tradition with innovation — building systems, elevating services, and strengthening culture.
In 2024, YYC crossed a major milestone — surpassing 1,000 talents. A proud moment. A dream realised.
Our growth has been backed by bold strategic moves—first with OCBC, and now with SeaTown Holdings, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek. Their belief in our vision fuels us to go further, faster, and with even greater purpose. With the funding from SeaTown, we expanded aggressively through strategic acquisitions across Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. These moves strengthened our regional presence and technology capabilities to serve entrepreneurs better than ever.
But after reaching that peak, another thought emerged:
“What about the next 30, 50, even 100 years?”
That question led to deep reflection. And from that reflection, a new vision was born: YYC Vision 2.0.

Shin is the author of two business titles and is also a frequent speaker for seminars organised by China Press, Nanyang Siang Pau, Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and various trade associations such as Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA), Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM), The Timber Exporter's Association of Malaysia (TEAM) and many more.
She has also provided oversight on many tax investigations and tax audits with Inland Revenue Board and Royal Malaysian Customs Department.
Shin holds a bachelor's degree from University of Melbourne, an MBA from University of Nottingham, and is a member of CPA Australia and MIA.
